Our Story

We met during our sophomore year in college in early 2003, at the tryout day for new Orientation Leaders. I was on the team in charge of hiring new OLs, and Craig was hoping to become one. He did, and thus began a friendship that would not turn into more until a few years later. We were always casual friends with tons of mutual friends, and spent a lot of time chatting online (as that was the only cool way to communicate in college) over those first few years.
Towards the beginning of senior year, we both sort of had an "aha!" moment, took a chance, and never looked back. The first night we started realizing there might be more potential there, we took a walk up by the big house on the hill. That was November of 2004. Neither of us dreamed at that time that we'd be returning to the very same spot nearly five years later, but that's exactly what happened.
I thought I was going to dinner with a couple of girlfriends from school, one of whom now works there. As we arrived to pick her up, she got us to come inside, and - lo and behold - he was waiting there for me instead, ring in hand, to walk me out to the top of the hill to the same spot we went for our walk that very first night. They had set it all up ahead of time and even had someone there to capture the whole thing on camera. I was SO surprised, and it was just perfect!
